An Equestrian Experience for Families with Autism and other Special Needs
Allie's Kids is an equestrian program targeted at both children diagnosed with Autism and other special needs and their "typical" siblings. Participation is open to individuals of all ages. Students in the program will be provided with both horseback riding and other horsemanship opportunities such as grooming skills and barn management.
Allie's Kids also participates in the Special Olympics and is a Special Olympics Local Training Program for Equestrian sports.The purpose of Allie's Kids is to provide a unique opportunity that will allow both the special needs and typical siblings to share an experience in which they will be working towards similar goals. Typical siblings will also have the benefit of being able to meet and work with other siblings their own age with similar familial experiences. Allie's Kids aims to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for families with Autism and other special needs to experience the world of horses.
